Fee transparency

Caregivers never pay us. Not once, not ever.

Senior Living Santa Monica Care is paid by the employers who hire you. Our no-applicant-fee policy is absolute and follows the WHO Global Code of Practice on international recruitment: the cost of hiring belongs to the employer, not to the caregiver.

What you will never be charged

  • Application, registration or shortlisting fees
  • Interview, assessment or 'priority placement' fees
  • Payment for a job offer, contract or sponsorship certificate
  • Fees to our staff personally, in cash, gift cards or cryptocurrency
  • Deposits refundable 'after you arrive'
  • Agent commissions taken from your first salary payments

What the employer pays for

  • Our recruitment fee, in full
  • Sponsorship and certificate of sponsorship costs, where the law requires the employer to pay
  • Credential verification and employer-side compliance checks
  • Interview coordination, onboarding and induction

Costs you may still have — and who they go to

A small number of official costs sit with you, depending on your country. Each one is paid directly to the authority providing it, at its published price. Nothing passes through us or through any agent.

Your passport

Issued by your own government at its published price. Never through us or an agent.

Government visa or immigration fees

Paid directly to the destination country's official portal, at the official rate. Many employers reimburse these — ask before you pay.

Language tests and medical checks

Paid to the approved test centre or clinic itself. We only tell you which test or check is required.

Police or background certificates

Paid to the issuing authority in your own country at its official rate.

Approved payment practices

Every legitimate payment goes to a government body, test centre or clinic — never to us.

Senior Living Santa Monica Care will never ask you for bank details, card numbers or a money transfer.

We never contact candidates from free webmail accounts. Genuine mail comes from an @smseniorliving.com address.

You will always have your contract and role details in writing before any step that costs you money.

Refusing to pay an unofficial request will never affect your application with us.

Someone asked you for money? Tell us straight away.

If anyone — including a person claiming to work for Senior Living Santa Monica Care, an employer, or a local agent — asks you to pay for a job, a sponsorship, or faster processing, stop and report it. Your application is never affected by reporting, and we will never tell the person you contacted us.

  1. 01Do not pay, and do not share bank or card details.
  2. 02Keep the evidence: screenshots, the email address or phone number used, names, dates and the amount requested.
  3. 03Email contact@smseniorliving.com or use our contact form with the subject "Fee report".
  4. 04We investigate every report, remove any employer or agent found in breach, and help you recover money where possible.
