FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Straight answers on fees, timelines, qualifications, family relocation, and everything in between.

Do I need to pay Senior Living Santa Monica Care any fees?+

No. Senior Living Santa Monica Care applicants pay zero fees at any stage — application, matching, licensing, or visa. All fees are paid by employers.

Which qualifications do I need?+

Requirements vary by country. Most destinations expect a recognized nursing diploma or caregiver certificate and 1–2 years of experience. Some require country-specific licensing exams (NCLEX, NMC, AHPRA).

How long does the process take?+

Between 3 and 14 months. The UK, Ireland, and Singapore are fastest (3–6 months). Canada, Germany, and Australia take 6–12 months. The USA and Japan take 8–14 months.

Do I need to speak the local language?+

It depends on the destination. English-speaking countries need IELTS/OET. Germany, France, Japan, and Korea require intermediate language proficiency (B1–B2 or JLPT N3+). We coordinate exam prep.

Can my family come with me?+

In most destinations, yes — spouses and dependent children under 18 can accompany you on a family visa. We handle these applications alongside yours at no extra charge.

What if I don't like my employer once I arrive?+

You are never trapped. If a placement isn't working, Senior Living Santa Monica Care will help you switch to a different verified employer at no cost — provided you honor any notice periods in your contract.

Is my personal data secure?+

Yes. Documents are stored in an encrypted vault (AES-256), access is role-based, and we are GDPR-compliant across all EU destinations. We never share your data without written consent.

Do you recruit for private homes or only healthcare facilities?+

Both. We place caregivers in hospitals, residential care homes, assisted-living communities, and private households — every employer is vetted the same way.

What happens after my first year?+

You keep the job — Senior Living Santa Monica Care has no lock-in. We stay in contact throughout year one for support, then you're free to pursue promotions, transfers, or permanent residency on your own terms.

Can I apply from any country?+

Yes. We work with applicants from over 60 countries of origin. Eligibility depends on the destination's visa criteria, not your nationality.
